Let's Learn English

Composing a pretty poem,

Isn’t like defining xylem and phloem.

It can cure you if you are sick.

To compose you need to know some basics.

We will learn Figures of Speech.

For only today I will teach.

They are literary devices.

To poetry they give spices.

First comes Simile,

It comparison you see.

Here helping words are used.

As, life or so- are introduces.

Metaphor comes next.

Comparison words aren’t used in this text.

Here comparison is between two.

It could be both with me and you.

Third comes alliteration,

It has nothing to do with animation.

Here the same sound will repeat.

Example- A Shiny Silky Seat.

Personification is number four.

Here lifeless objects are more.

They are treated like living beings.

An example is- A mirror seeing.

When two opposite ideas are put together.

Then the poem gets a new feather.

An example is a pleasant storm.

You guessed it right! It’s Oxymoron.

Hyperbola at last has come.

It’s when a small thing is treated as a big one.

Example- Ekaansh smiles and the entire world gay.

“Thank you! That’s all for today” I shall say.
